Founded by general contractor Gary. J Splittgaber, a visionary craftsman with a passion for building, GJS began its journey with a solid foundation in carpentry and beautiful craftsmanship. Gary's extensive years of experience in building luxurious residential homes, home remodels, schools, and churches in the Tampa Bay area have been instrumental in shaping the ethos of GJS Traditional Building.
Today, GJS operates from its headquarters in Palmetto, Florida, extending its premier home construction and remodeling services across the greater Tampa and St. Petersburg areas.

THE OWNER
GARY J. Splittgaber
Gary Splittgaber started GJS Traditional Building in 1994 as a family-owned carpentry business in the St. Petersburg area, and has been in the construction business since then. With over 30 years of building experience, he now has his general contractor's license, and has continued to build on his local success. Gary and his team have completed several new home constructions, full renovations, and restorations, as well as small improvements to residential and commercial buildings throughout the Tampa Bay area. He's been a go-to for both commercial and residential customers for new constructions and remodeling around the Tampa Bay area ever since.
Splittgaber has been part of the remodeling side of the business in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Bradenton, Davis Island, Snell Island, and Tierra Verde areas. His success includes completed work on the late George Steinbrenner's South Tampa mansion, former NBA player Matt Geiger's home, and the Columbia Restaurant, as well as several local churches and schools. Gary currently resides in Palmetto, with his wife, Terrie Michelle, and his daughter.
